My little boy is almost two! I am working on planning his party these last few days. We made a trip to the party store the other day and bought the decorations (some of them). I have a few other ideas in mind that I am working on. I'm so excited!! I picked a new cake recipe and frosting recipe and tried it over the weekend....yuck! I'm planning something different this weekend. I think I'll try and stick to the recipe I used last birthday.
Anyway, enough about that. Eli is really growing up fast. He just started referring to himself as Eli the last few days. I realized he was doing it when I was singing a song with him one day and he told me "no, no Eli." I asked him if he wanted to sing and he said yes and told me to stop singing. Then he was playing with his friends today and one of them started playing with a toy Eli liked and he came to me saying "Eli, Eli." and pointing towards the toy, he wanted to play with it. It's so neat.
Eli is getting better and better with singing his songs. I try and use his love for music and singing to my advantage. When he starts getting impatient, I ask him to sing a song while he's waiting. It works sometimes.
He is still loving dinosaurs. He recently learned all the names of the characters of his Sesame Street Dinosaurs DVD, Elmo, Abby, and Telly. He can say them all.
Eli has also learned his friends' name, Talia. He says it more like Tally, which also sounds like, Telly, and sorta like Charlie. Some days I do have trouble differentiating which word he is telling me because some of them sound the same. Dinosaur, Elephant, and Animal all sound alike. I'll ask him just to clarify and he'll say yes or no if I get the word wrong.
Jumping up and down and skipping around the house has become Eli's new display of endless energy. It actually looks like he winds up when he jumps up and down. He gets almost to the ground and then jumps into the air. He gets a good 4 inches off the ground :)
We are starting to get out in the afternoon more. I plan the calendar for our MOMS Club so I have been trying to keep it full. Eli and I try and get to as many events as we can, and host a good amount of activities at our home.
I had to post this prematurely because it wasn't saving but I plan to put some pictures up soon.
