Happy 4th of July 2013!!

Each year our neighborhood hosts a 4th of July parade for the kiddos.  The kids decorate their bikes or scooters and walk through the neighborhood.  This was our first year participating in it.  Eli was really excited to decorate the wagon.  We decided to take that so Jack would have something to sit in and I anticipated Eli would get really tired on his scooter, plus our neighborhood is quite hilly.

We finally made it to the starting point and I quickly realized we would not be able to keep up with the group.  It was mostly golf carts and bigger kids on bikes.  We took a little short cut and met at the pond.  They had the Deer Creek Fire Department in the parade too.

When we got to the pond they had a bounce house set up for the kids, tattoo station, games and snow cones.  Eli got to make a light saber out of a pool noodle and you put a glow stick in it so it'll light up tonight when we do fireworks.  We didn't stay for hot dogs or the races because Jack was ready for his nap.  It was a long walk home in the hot sun and pulling the wagon, I'm so out of shape!!
Really fun though and Eli said thank you for taking him, he had a great time.

Happy 4th of July!!

What a cool event! Wish our neighborhood had something like that. We just stayed home, watched the fireworks on TV.

It was fun! Definitely different here for the 4th. Fireworks going off in every direction from our driveway!
